Hi, I'm Katie!
As a licensed clinical social worker, I am dedicated to fostering healthy relationships and enjoy empowering young people to utilize their strengths to navigate a challenging world. I believe that by meeting children at their level, affirming their identity, and giving them a voice, I can help them develop the tools they need to overcome obstacles and achieve their goals.
Using a blend of strengths-based, solution-focused, and cognitive behavioral techniques I tailor skills to each client's needs, preparing them for a successful adulthood. Throughout the therapeutic process I explore all aspects of a child's life to maximize their strengths and leverage available support systems while offering encouragement, support and advocacy to ensure my clients feel seen and heard. I also often work alongside George, my trained therapy dog and loveable golden retriever who provides a calming presence during sessions.
Child/Adolescent Specialties include: self-esteem issues, school-related concerns, emotional regulation, grief, depression, anxiety, anger, peer related concerns, parent-child relationships
I earned a Bachelor Degree in International Relations from Wheaton College in Wheaton, IL and a Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of Houston in 2020. I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) and a licensed mental health practitioner (LMHP) in the great state of Nebraska. I have a diverse background and over 12 years of experience working with children, most recently as a school social worker.
